The long-awaited Lightweight Championship bout between the Undefeated Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and the interim Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier is set to go Saturday September 7th. The match is scheduled to unify the belt after Khabib’s win and subsequent suspension over Connor Mcgregor at UFC 229. Poirier won the right to unify the belt against Khabib with his win over Max Holloway at UFC 236. Khabib enters the night 27-0-0 and is currently favored to win with a line of -370 while Poirier and his 25-5-0 is +320. The fight at The Arena, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, marks the third time the promotion has visited Abu Dhabi. The Lightweight Championship bout is sure to be an amazing fight as Khabib’s “Mauler” style matches up well against the extremely well-rounded Poirier. Dustin has been a fixture in the cage for close to a decade and is well known for his grappling but has recently emerged as a talented stand-up style fighter. This fight for Khabib could be one of the more challenging he has faced in recent memory as Dustin appears to be at his prime. Either way the unified strap at 155 pounds will be worn by whichever fighter is on his A-Game and will likely setup an amazing rematch down the road. Unless Tony Ferguson has anything say about it. Get your bets in early for Khabib VS Poirier at UFC 242 and don’t be shy about betting the Underdog (Poirier) with a value bet of +320. See all lines here –
